EHS invited Year 6 pupils from St Georges Primary school for taster sessions/lessons.

Background

EHS already has a good working relationship with St Georges Primary School, this was further developed in 2019 as we invited the pupils along wiht our Year 6 pupils from EHS to sample Senior school life for a day.

Resources

EHS provided the teaching, expertise, facilites and food for the Year 6 pupils for the day. the day was free of charge.

Impact

The lessons that were offered as part of the taster session were Music and Greek. During the music session the children learnt how to play certain chords on a keyboard, guitar, drums and some volunteered to sing into the microphone. In the Greek session  the children learnt about the Greek mythology and then had the opportunity to learn the Greek alphabet and attempt to write their own name. The pupils found the day a great success.

Frequency

We hope to repeat the event with Summer activities in 2019 and another Spring event in 2020.
