Working in Partnership - Spear Programme

The award-winning Spear programme helps disadvantaged young people who have potential, but not always the means to realise it. The year-long programme begins with an intensive six weeks of pre-employment training. Spear empowers each trainee to overcome their circumstances by giving them the practical and personal skills to be work-ready.

South Hampstead works with Spear’s local centre. Parents and Sixth Form ambassadors volunteer to  work with disadvantaged young people in the local community to help them find work and give them confidence and interview skills to secure employment. We also support Spear's fundraising programme.

Aims

The aim is to work in partnership with Spear to increase the opportunites and outcomes for vulnerable young people.

It also gives our pupils valuable volunteering and life learning experience.
