Wild Shakespeare Day

A day of Shakespeare aimed at Yr5 and 6 English and drama enthusiasts from local primary schools with workshops in the morning and a performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream in the afternoon. All taking place outdoors at Monkton Senior School.

Aims

The day will offer the students an opportunity to work on their feet and explore Shakespeare in a new, fun and innovative manner. These sessions will not only build confidence with understanding Shakespeare's language but will offer different routes to analysing the Bard's work.  Before watching an outdoor production of A Midsummer Night's Dream students will take part in workshops, run by an RSC trained practitioner, that look at the narrative of the play, explore themes, character journeys and unlock language in key scenes.
