We All Stand Together Joint Recording Project
The school orchestra contributed to a large collaborative music project, a charity single with accompanying video featuring a host of singers and contributors (including BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare Teal). Springboard Chippenham is a school for preschool children with special needs. Monkton's orchestra learned their part in only 2 weeks, and recorded it in the Bowerman Hall, having to remain in sync with parts of the track that had already been recorded! The end result was fantastic, and the producer complimented the orchestra on their excellent work. We hope to work with Springboard in the forthcoming future.
Aims
To assist in fundraising project through music video.
Background
Through other collaborative work with the producer of the single. It took place in September 2019.
Resources
Monkton Combe School Orchestra and the Monkton Studio Manager. Use of the recording studio and the Monkton Music Department facilities. The project took 5 weeks to complete.
Impact

Impact measured through the financial benefit to Springboard. Also, growing collegiate spirit amongst Monkton's Orchestra.
Further impact that is anticipated is a desire on the part of the orchestra to do more charity work. Monkton's Studio Manager is becoming one of the charity's ambassadors, so will be able to judge the impact of the single's financial benefit.
Pupil Involvement
60 Monkton pupils were involved in the making of the music video.
Frequency
This was a single project, that ran over 5 weeks but there is every expectation that similar projects will follow it.
