Warm Space and Intergenerational Project

Warm Space

We run a Warm Space initiative in the spring term, providing a space where local elderly people can enjoy warmth, refreshments and entertainment, as well as human interaction. Pupils to take it in turns to lead sessions and host the events, including providing refreshments. Pupils have an opportunity to meet people of a different generation, as well as developing their leadership and confidence.

This runs every Friday afternoon in the spring term.

Intergenerational Project

Pupils visit a local retirement village on a weekly basis after school. They spend time getting to know the residents there, playing games and preparing presentations in pairs on a topic of their choosing. 

Pupils have an opportunity to meet people of a different generation, as well as learning about different perspectives.

Elderly people are able to develop relationships with pupils and share their knowledge and experience.

Inter-generational relationships developed and the confidence of pupils to interact with different people is improved.
