U11 Football Festivals

St Edward's school hosted 2 6-a-side football tournaments for prep and primary school pupils in years 5 and 6. February saw 11 girls teams play in the tournament. This was followed by the boys tournament in March.

This event was delivered in partnership with Oxford United in the Community.

Aims

The aim of this event was to provide more competitive sporting events for primary school age children, and encourage them to get involved with more sport.

Background

Working collaboratively with local and county-wide delivery partners, Oxford United in the Community uses the power of football to inspire the people and communities of Oxfordshire to have positive aspirations for their futures and the health, wellbeing, self-confidence, opportunities and resources to achieve them.

Resources

St Edward's sports staff were involved in the delivery of these events.

The event took place on St Edward's pitches.

St Edward's contributed to the cost of coaches for visiting schools where it was a barrier to them attending.

Impact

Verbal feedback from the event was positive.

Pupil Involvement

Visiting pupils were in years 5 and 6.

Frequency

We hope to repeat this event annually.
