The Richmond Schools' Sports Partnership
Hampton School has been a member of the Richmond Schools' Sports Partnership for over a decade. Hampton plays an active role in supporting the work of the borough's secondary school sports co-ordinators and we are always keen to offer our facilities and teaching staff to facilitate sport across the borough.
The schools involved in the Sports Partnership include: Hampton School, The Lady Eleanor Holles School, Hampton Academy, Twickenham Academy, Grey Court School, Christ's School, Orleans Park School, Richard Reynolds Academy, Richmond Academy, Teddington Academy and Turing House School.
Aims
To develop sport in the Borough of Richmond and to offer as wide a variety of sporting opportunities to as many pupils as possible.
Background
Hampton School enjoys longstanding close links with the other secondary schools in the Borough of Richmond and is always keen to offer whatever support it can to facilitate the development of sporting initiatives. The Hampton Sports Hall is an ideal size for holding indoor sporting championships and events.
Resources
The Sports Hall at Hampton School is used on an annual basis to host the Richmond Borough Badminton, Basketball, Indoor Rowing, Table Tennis and Volleyball Championships. Hampton School teaching and coaching staff assist staff from our partner schools in the running of these events.
Impact
Meetings of the Secondary School Sports Co-ordinators are held on a regular basis and the success of each championship is evaluated, including numbers of pupils involved and quality of performance.
Pupil Involvement
Over the course of the year, over 300 boys and girls from the eleven state secondary and independent schools in the Partnership take part in at least one of the above championships.
Frequency
The championships listed are run on an annual basis and we hope to continue our support for many years to come.
