Teacher Training Professional Development for NQT
Norwich School supports teacher training and professional development for newly qualified teachers (NQTs) in the region by offering placements for PGCE students and is the regional centre for professional develpoment for NQTs across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
Aims
Training future teachers and helping with retention.
In 2016/17 Norwich School trained ten teachers who successfully gained their qualification and are currently working in schools.
Background
Since 2002, Norwich School has worked with the UEA and in recent years has expanded these links to other institutions.
Resources
Norwich School offers placements to trainees during the Lent and Trinity Terms and hosts termly regional training days in our on-site conferece facilities.
Pupil Involvement
Trainees are able to develop their teaching practices by teaching our pupils from age 7-18.
Frequency
We annually employ between 1 - 6 NQTs a year and train typically 6 - 8 trainees.
