SUSOMAD (Stand Up, Speak Out, Make A Difference)
A group of around 12 Year 9 students attend workshops led by Cohesion Bradford. The project comprises of two key parts.
Working with other Bradford secondary schools to create a peer education scheme on a topic of contemporary relevance (this year it was how to tackle prejudice and discrimination against immigrants “Migrhate”). Our students then teach this lesson to younger students during PD lessons.
The Anne Frank and You Exhibition, in which our students learn about the story of Anne Frank and the more recent events in Srebrenica. Our students then guide various Bradford primary schools around the Exhibition in the Kala Sangam. The Exhibition draws parallels with contemporary events whilst encouraging students to speak out when they witness intolerance or discrimination.
