Street Art

To promote leadership skills for Year 12 Art A level students, by designing and completing a wall mural at a local community primary school.

Aims

To promote leadership skills for Year 12 students. To provide opportunities for Year 12 to work in their community supporting younger learners. To provide enrichment learning for contemporary art making techniques.

An identified need to support students whilst they worked towards their Sixth Form diploma was focused upon as well as stretching Year 12 Art students to work on a large scale within the Art workshop using new materials and techniques.

A critical factor was successfully completing a wall mural onsite in the grounds of Maple Primary School and this proved advantageous for future school marketing purposes also. All Year 12 students involved being fully aware of how to safely use spray painting and stencilling techniques for StreetArt methods was a factor also.

All Year 12 students involved were in receipt of the workshop experience and added value to the their Sixth Form diploma activities list.
