Staff Visit/Excellence Day
There was a visit by Nova Hreod staff to explore how Guildford High School (GHS) students are challenged and made to think by teachers in their lessons and to consider how students engage in difficult subject content.
Background
Nova Hreod subject lead staff in Languages, Maths, Science, Humanities and English were joined by their Assistant Principal in a visit to GHS where they shadowed their respective departments and had the opportunity to discuss challenging the most able. Informal discussions also took place over lunch. GHS HoDs drew up timetables of lesson observation for the visiting staff to follow.
Impact
Allowing staff to share pedagogical ideas within their subject with a strong focus on high-achievers. Informal feedback on the day was very positive from all parties involved.
Pupil Involvement
Some lesson observation and discussion. Staff-staff involvement in the main.
