Spring Art Competition
The King Edward’s annual Art Competition and Exhibition welcomed entries from eight local prep and primary schools who submitted up to five pieces from Year groups 5 & 6 and 7 & 8. In total 55 artworks, either 2D or 3D, were submitted.
Families are invited to an evening reception to view the exhibition and be involved with the prize giving which is announced on the night. Light refreshments are served.
Aims
To give the young artists the opportunity to create their own interpretation of a known artist such as Van Gogh, Banksy, Andy Warhol, or inspiration having visited a famous art gallery like The Tate.

Teaching and non-teaching staff, and catering.
Impact
To give our partner schools the opportunity to create their own masterpiece under the guidance and tuition of their teachers.
To enjoy looking at all the other entrants’ work and hear whether their artwork has been chosen as a prize winner in front of the wider audience. Four WH Smith vouchers are awarded by the judges for each age category.
Pupil Involvement
This event is only open to guest prep and junior schools and does not include King Edward’s pupils.
Frequency
Once a year in March during the Spring Term.
