Sporting outreach

We take great pride in our sporting outreach activities, actively engaging with the community to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and a love for sports. These partnerships are designed to extend the benefits of athletic programmes that also fostering a spirit of inclusivity and mutual growth.

Pupils at RGS often take on leadership roles in the outreach projects, acting as mentors and coaches for younger participants, thus reinforcing their own skills and fostering a sense of responsibility and community service.

Additionally, we collaborate with local schools to offer joint sporting events and competitions. These inter-school engagements create a vibrant sporting culture, allowing students to compete, learn from each other, and build lasting friendships.

A number of the initiatives are outlined below.

Local state schools have been invited to take part in a netball rally and to receive hockey coaching leading to a mini tournament.

A group of pupils from year 11 and 12 helped out as marshals and carers for Reigate Parish School's annual sports day.

We hosted Reigate Parish School's Sports Day, which involved a range of summer sports using RGS sporting facilities for the benefit of all children at the primary school.

A netball rally for pupils in Years 4 and 5 at local primary schools has also been organised by RGS, and, as part of our sports outreach programme, our sports Performance Directors teaches practical PE every Wednesday at Reigate Priory School. This involves over 150 local Year 4 students receiving expert teaching in hockey, netball and rugby every week.
