Sixth Form Volunteering Ashurst Primary School

Sixth Form students weekly read with the children, help them with whatever work is being done. They also help with Maths, help with break time, help get them ready to go home.

Aims

An opportunity for Lingfield College pupils to volunteer  it is good experience for them,  their mental wellbeing, doing good things for others, supportive for those who want to pursue careers in working with young children, and good experience no matter what career they choose.

Background

Opportunity arose due to one of our Senior Management Team being a Governor at the School.

Resources

Teacher drops them to and from the School.

10 students are off site for one afternoon a week.

Pupil Involvement

The pupils involved range in age from 16 to 18.

Frequency

It is ongoing (Covid permitting) and will continue for the rest of the academic year. It is planned to continue after that with different students.
