Sixth Form community service
All Lower Sixth students at St Helen's take on some form of community service, either working with people in the local community or in local schools.
Aims
For students to give back to and immerse themselves in the local community by helping in Abingdon's care home, primary schools (including one SEN school) and baby and toddler groups.
Background
This is a long-standing aspect of the Sixth Form experience at St Helen's.
Impact
Students find their period of service rewarding and fulfilling with a strong sense of personal achievement.
From schools: “I always have great feedback about the girls” (Kingfisher School).
“I have Elizabeth and found her, as always, polite and helpful” (Dunmore Primary School).
