Singing and Community
Seaford College runs a weekly community choir for staff, parents and local community members from the surrounding villages and towns. The Choir performs at school events as well as community events such as Petworth Christmas Lights and Fringe Festival.
Annual host of Christmas Eve Crib Service for local residents and villagers in St Peter's Chapel followed by refreshments in Mansion House.
Prep and Senior School pupils visiting local nursing homes (Pendean and Petworth Cottage Nursing Home) to sing carols, join in playing games, sharing refreshments and conversation.
Aims
Provide joy and good well being through singing but performing and listening to performers. Encourage and set up opportunities for pupils, staff, villagers, nursing home residents and staff to interact and develop a relationship across generations. Bring smiles, laughter and tears of happiness to all involved.
Background
Through our annual Community Action Day and relationship with the surrounding villages / towns working to be an active member within our community. Community Action Day established in 2013.
Resources
The school provides the music recital room for weekly community choir practice.
The school provide the resources, working with care homes for arranging visits, gaining permission from parents and transporting students to and from care homes.
Impact
The impact is on a group and individual basis with very positive feedback from all parties involved.

Prep School students all the way through to Senior School from Year 3-13.
