Senior Citizens Christmas Lunch

To provide entertainment for the Senior Citizens  Christmas lunch, which is hosted every year by Nottingham High School, for older members of the local community. 

Aims

To provide entertainment for the OAP Christmas Lunch. 

Background

Our entertainment provision has been taking place since 2013, after the Community Action Coordinator at the time, approached the school's Head of Drama.  

Resources

The entertainment is organised by the Head of Drama and the Drama Technician. We use the Main School Production Cast, Production Team and Band (if a musical). 

The event is hosted in the school's Founder Hall theatre, with refreshments served at our 500th Bar. The school also used the Les Wilkinson Drama Studio for rehearsals and backstage access. 

The event lasted for 3 hours. Lunch was provided by the school. 

Impact

The performance provides an enjoyable, evocative, sociable and memorable experience for the senior citizens that visit us, during what can be a difficult time of year for some of the elderly members of our local community.

Nottingham High School students in Year 10, 11, 12 and 13.
