Rotherlea Nursing Home Visit
Seaford College had an established relationship with Rotherlea Nursing Home, Petworth as part of our annual Community Action Day on an annual basis. Both Rotherlea and the Seaford Community (pupils and staff) are striving to establish a more regular relationship and visit programme by our pupils to the residents of this local care home. This includes special calendar days such as Remembrance Day, Christmas Tree decorating, Easter as well as regular week day visit.
During the COVID period Seaford College connected learning (remote learning from home), implemented digital bingo with local care home residents to play bingo as well as being a 'listening ear' to hear care home residents' personal stories.
Aims
Develop a relationship with Rotherlea residents, Rotherlea staff, Seaford College pupils and staff. Spend time talking, reading out loud, singing, leading and joining in on Remembrance or Carol service, Christmas tree decorating, painting and nail care, playing games or providing assistance in the grounds/gardens of the facility.
