Rossall School Community Work/Fundraising
Rossall School is actively involved with the local community here in Fleetwood. Our sports facilities are used by hundreds of local people each week and we have partneships with Healthier Fleetwood, Fleetwood Town Community Trust, Fleetwood Trust and Fleetwood in Bloom. Our pupils support local charities and have raised tens of thousands of pounds for projects such as Donna's Dream House in Blackpool and Brian House Children's Hospice.
Rossall pupils regularly take part in beach cleans and other local environmental projects. Children from local maintained schools are regularly invited to talks and events at Rossall. Our Astronomy Centre hosts many groups of primary and secondary school children throughout the year and our recently opened petting zoo will also be shared with the local community.
Rossall School's sports facilities are used extensively by such local football, netball and hockey teams and it is in almost continuous use by community groups.
Aims
The aims of all of these active partnerships are to ensure that Rossall fulfills its social responsibility to the local community of which we are part. We are part of the rich fabric of life on the Fylde Coast and we believe that our charitable obligations extend well beyond our own pupils. These partnerships provide mutual benefit. We feel that we gain as much as we give and our deep roots in the local community are very clear.
