Reverse Advent Appeal
Seaford College launched a Reverse Advent Appeal – over a 4 week period - starting 13 November until 9 December for Christmas. Each week had a unique theme and collection of goods.
All donations brought in by students, parents and staff were in aid of the Chichester district local foodbank, Rotary International and RSPCA.
Aims
Make an impact on our local community as well as farther afield.
Involve all students, parents and staff who wish to participate.
Small acts of kindness making a big impact on the community who ultimately receive these collected items.
Background
The Student Charity Council organised and collected donations on a regular basis; with the assistance of staff members interfaced with the organisations for which the items were collected for.
Parents also able to donate directly via bank transfer if unable or prefer to make this type of donation.
Resources
Used the school as a collection point.
Used the school transport to transfer and deliver items to the organisations.
Weekly notices sent to parents / staff over the four week period.
Impact
We believe small acts of kindness make a big impact on both the receiver as well as the giver. Important for our Seaford community to give something back to their community.
Pupil Involvement
Year 2 to Year 13 involved (Age 6 to 18 years) along with teaching staff.
Frequency
Over a four week period starting 13 November until 9 December for Christmas.
