Primary School Maths Challenge
An annual event for primary school children, who take part in afternoons featuring Maths puzzles designed to stimulate problem solving and enjoyment of Maths.
Aims
To encourage pupils to see Maths as something fun and logical outside the constraints of the curriculum.
Resources
Questions, resources such as dice, paper, pens, flags, tape, etc. for the challenges (varies year on year), staff and pupil time.
Impact
The imapct of this project is assessed through feedback from the pupils themselves and their teachers and parents.
Pupil Involvement
Involves external pupils aged 9 to 11 and MCS Sixth Form students.
Frequency
This event occurs annually.
