Primary School Art

Art workshops in primary schools as preparation for an exhibition of artwork on the theme Inside/Outside held at St Helen's School.

 

Aims

To give specialist art support to primary school teachers in the maintained sector.

To enable pupils to try new processes and materials in order to produce artwork for the exhibition for maintained and independent schools to which pupils families were invited to attend.

Background

The opportunity was identified by the Creative Arts Partnerships Coordinator and has now been established for a year.

Resources

Two members of St Helen's art department provided material and teaching to state primary schools

Impact

The workshops provided the opportunity for CPD for both St Helen's staff and the primary school teachers who had not taught art before.

Pupil Involvement

In total 144 pupils in Years 3-7 

Frequency

This will be a termly event reviewed annually.
