Practical lesson support

Children from the Lansdowne Children's Home, Homefield cottage and the foster Placement service access our facilities on Saturday mornings. This involves sessions in our zoo, ceramics along with photography lessons

Aims:
Children have expert teaching in areas of the curriculum that they otherwise would not be able to access.

Background:
This is a partnership that has been running with the National Springboard foundation for the last 4 years

Resources:
School facilities and specialist teaching and non teaching staff are utilised.

Taster/Sports Days
Three times a year, the Trust brings in a small group of children to the School so that they can try out photography, art, media and film, music technology and animal management. This initiative runs in collaboration with the Foster Placement Support Team, which offers respite care for foster carers. The School also brings in groups of children in care for sports days (usually one per holiday) and offers the use of the Sports Complex to give them the opportunity to try different sports.

Impact

Students access our facilities once every half term
