Phoenix Community Book Reading

Phoenix Community Event held a Book Reading for local schools in our theatre. The community event for charity saw 8 schools from the local area come to the theatre to watch the performance.

Aims

To raise money for the Theatre Royal Margate and to raise aspirations of children in our local schools and community.

Resources

The Taylor Hall, our multi-use theatre, provides the perfect venue for performances. The theatre seats an audience of up to 500 people within the main hall and balcony. Specialist stage lighting and sound equipment helps to create a professional production. The stage dominates one wall, but the building is constructed so that performances can also take place in the round. 

Pupil Involvement

Pupils aged 5-11 years old.

Frequency

This event has been a one-off so far, but St Lawrence College, the schools and groups involved are keen to make it an annual event.
