Performance of Bronte & workshop
25 GCSE pupils from Hayesfield School were invited to join us at Monkton for a matinee performance of the Senior Production of Bronte, followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew.
Aims
To share experiences and expertise between schools, learning from each other and building community.
Background
The opportunity was developed as part of our growing relationship with Hayesfield School.
Impact
The following qualitative comments were received following the event:
"thank you and your students for a fabulous afternoon's theatre yesterday... the whole experience left my students buzzing and talking all the way home. The set was clever, the traverse staging a new style for many of them and the bespoke soundscape really interested them and awoke their technical minds.
As for the performers, well, all were good ... But the undoubted stars were your A Level students and all 3 delivered professional standard performances that would grace any stage and stand up alongside any professional actors in the world. They were utterly convincing and I would pay good money to have watched them."
Pupil Involvement
Pupils from years 11-13 at Monkton were involved in this partnership, and a group of 25 GCSE drama pupils from Hayesfield.
Frequency
This is an annual event.
