Partnership with the Royal Geographical Society

Norwich School is pleased to be the home of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) in the East of England, and the venue for their annual series of engaging public talks from knowledgeable experts about the physical, human and environmental world around us.

For a second year, the school will host a series of Youth Micro-Lectures on the theme ‘People, Planet, Partnership’. Each year we invite pupils in Years 10 to 13 from any school across the East of England to apply to give a short lecture on a topic of their choice to a public audience including RGS Fellows and Members.

Aims

The Royal Geographical Society seeks to educate, inspire and inform the general public about geographical matters. The Society offers a series of lectures throughout the year given by eminent speakers, all of which are open to the general public.

Norwich School is a proud Host of the Eastern Region of these talks, opening our venues to a wide audience.

Resources

Talks occur monthly during term time and the school provides the venue space, catering and assists with marketing the events. The topics draw audiences of up to 100, with students and their teachers able to access the talks for free.

Frequency

The RGS talks are held on an ongoing basis and will continue in the new academic year.
