Oxted School Collaboration
Collaboration between Oxted and Lingfield staff. All met in the Atrium for refreshments, welcomed by the Head. Departments then amalgamated and consulted on a number of areas; sharing resources, schemes of work, discussing challenges and wins, and planning future collaborative events.
Has resulted in a number of individuals coming to observe lessons at both schools. Agreement to share details of conferences and guest speakers, enabling some of our students join Oxted trips e.g. to the Bank of England. There are plans to set up and run shared workshops and presentations in Economics.
Background
This is a new partnership that started with a meeting of the Head and Deputy Head of Sixth Form Oxted, Kate Stodart and Alex Matthews with Caroline Wren, Head of Organisational Development at Lingfield College.
This then led to a meeting with Alison Folkard, Head of Sixth Form. To begin with Kate asked her staff whether or not there would be interest in departments meeting up and the response was overwhelming!
Impact
There has definitely been a very positive impact. Sharing resources, reciprocal observing of lessons, preparing shared events and trips to name a few.
