Oxbridge Conference 2024

This event is held every year at St Albans High School for Girls.  Around 16 alumni speakers who have studied at either Oxford or Cambridge university discuss their experience with around 150 Year 12 students from STAHS and an additional 8 local schools, who are considering applying. A key note speech is given by the Head of Admissions at Cambridge.

Aims

The aim of the partnership is to give students from local schools the opportunity to learn more about the process of applying to Oxford or Cambridge university.

The event has run for around 10 years.

Resources

The event has been held in person at St Albans High School for Girls for a number of years. It was held online in 2021, 2022 and 2023 due to the pandemic. In 2024 it was held in person again.

Around 20 teaching staff and 3 non teaching staff are involved.

There is no financial contribution required.

Impact

A feedback form is sent to all student participants to ask how useful they find the event.

Pupil Involvement

Pupils are predominantly from Year 12, though a few attend from Years 10 to 11.
