Outdoor adventures (Sunflowers at St Peter's)
We welcomed Sunflowers Nursery for an outdoor day at Rendcomb, exploring our campus and the woodland classroom and Forest School.
Aims
The aim was to provide the children with a safe and secure environment in which they could explore and explore some of our 230 acres, using the outdoor classroom and Forest School areas to enhance their knowledge of the outdoor world.
Background
This is another visit from this group who have been coming to us regularly for the last few years. The visit was originally proposed by us.
Resources
We supply the staff and resources to collect the children from Cirencester and transport them to and from Rendcomb. We also supply our staff to be with the children throughout their visit.
The project used the grounds of Rendcomb, and also our staff and minibuses as we collected the children from Cirencester and delivered them back at the end of their day.
Impact
The children had a wonderful day, and learnt a lot about the outdoors.
Pupil Involvement
The children that are involved are in Nursery aged between 3 and 5. We contacted all the local playgroups and offered a day for them.
Frequency
This is an annual event held each summer. None of our pupils were involved, but all 30 of the Sunflowers children came along.
