Onatti Modern Foreign Language Plays
King Edward’s hosts three MFL plays annually in French, Spanish and German. In conjunction with Onatti Productions, two professional actors perform a 50-minute play in their native tongue. No English is spoken.
Aims
To invite pupils from local prep, junior and secondary schools the opportunity to visit King Edward’s, watch and take part in a specific language performance in Charter Hall given by two professional actors.
Vocabulary crib sheets are sent out to the visiting schools in advance for the teachers to use in their classes. The plays always have an element of comedy and are always interactive with the actors choosing pupils to go up on stage to help with various activities.
The following three plays took take place for pupils in 3rd and 4th Form were:
Spanish play - Primera Cita (November 2019)
French play - Les Garçons (February 2020)
German play - Das Schlimmste Hotel (February 2020)
Background
King Edward's has been working with Onatti for several years and organises for actors to visit every year to perform three European language plays.

Frequency
The different productions take place once a year. The individual plays take place in November and February.
