Old Moat Children's Centre 2022

On our annual Citizenship Day in June 2022, 10 Year 12 pupils went to Old Moat Children's Centre. Pupils did some gardening, general tidying of the outdoor area, outdoor preservative painting and tidied and cleaned the indoor kitchen and playground.

Aims

To develop new links with Old Moat's Children Centre. The Children's Centre asked for general help tidying their outdoor space, including gardening and preservative woodwork painting.

Background

As part of our annual Citizenship Day, pupils go out into the local community and volunteer at various projects. This was a new project which came about in 2022, when the Head of PSHCE was put in contact with the manager at the Children's Centre.

Old Moat Children's Centre have expressed interest in pupils returning to volunteer in 2023 and have also suggested pupils could also volunteer at Burnage Children's Community Centre.
