Oakwood Swimming Gala

Oakwood have invited our local partners Chichester Swim School to participate in their inter school's swimming gala. 

Aims

The aim of this event is to broaden the opportunity for swimmers in the local community to compete in a swimming gala against other local Independent schools, which they would normally not have the opportunity to do.

There is a need to support local swimming in the community and provide an opportunity for more swimmers to experience a traditional gala.

Swimmers of Chichester Swim School, parents and relatives will have the opportunity to attend and support.

Background

Oakwood provided an open invitation to their partner Chichester Swim School to attend the event.

New scheme, which will be repeated regularly.

Resources

Oakwood and Chichester Swim School share the use of the heated pool, situated at Oakwood School. 

Swimming Coaches from CSS and Sports staff from Oakwood and visiting schools.

16 participants invited to compete.

Impact

No assessment - feedback collected from parents and pupils visiting. 

Pupil Involvement

The Oakwood swimming galas will be welcoming swimmers from year 3 to 6.

Frequency

3 swimming galas have been initially scheduled with more available in the future.
