North Shropshire Big Sing

Over 80 Year 5 and Year 6 pupils from North Shropshire came together to take part in a choral workshop at Moreton Hall as part of a mass choir, in preparation for their performance in the 'Christmas at The Holroyd' festive celebration.

Moreton Hall's Music department are working in partnership with Selattyn Primary School, St Martins Primary School and Moreton First Prep School as part of an initiative, developed by North Shropshire Music which encourages young children to explore the joys of making music as well as generating a love and enjoyment for choral singing.

Resources

Expert tuition is from music teachers from Moreton Hall. 

Teachers visit school settings on a weekly basis providing dedicated workshops over a six week period. 

The sessions are held free of charge.  

Pupil Involvement

Pupils are invited from Primary and Prep Schools across Shropshire and the neighbouring Welsh Borders in Years 5 and Year 6. 

Frequency

The events take place once a term following six weeks of music tuition across individual schools. The pupils then come together to showcase the techniques they have developed as a mass choir with a grand performance to friends and family.
