National Youth Musical Theatre

The National Youth Musical Theatre is a charity that exists to produce challenging music theatre work, both major productions and workshops, for young people of all backgrounds as participants and, in helping them to explore new and existing works, to inspire themselves and each other, and to give them the opportunity to achieve their highest aspirations, realising their talent, imagination and creativity.

Ibstock has recently invited this charity to use our theatre and performing arts facilities for rehearsals and workshops. They also borrowed some of our kit, such as instruments and the technical apparatus required for putting on concerts.

Aims

The charity needed facilities which we were able to provide. A small number of our pupils are involved in the Theatre group already too (7-10 pupils this year).

120 pupils from across the country took part.

Resources

Our theatre, and other apparatus was used for rehearsals and workshops.

Our Director of Performing Arts also works for this charity, and donated his time for part of the charity's activities.

Frequency

This will hopefully occur next academic year too.
