Music teaching
On Thursday 30th October 2019 during half term our Director of Music went to Bishop Ridley Primary School and taught 60 Year 5 pupils how to play the ukulele and sing along. The school has very little music on the curriculum and they have absolutely no music classroom and no music instruments/facilities at all.
She took in all of our ukuleles, designed a workshop for them and taught two sessions with 30 pupils per class for the afternoon. The children all learnt at least 5 chords and they learnt to play 2 songs and each class did a performance to the headmaster and sang along at the end of the workshop.
A hugely successful afternoon, the school and staff were lovely and the children absolutely loved playing the instruments.
