Music Partnership - The Chorister Scheme
Cheltenham College has formed two choirs of choristers. The 40-plus Choristers have been recruited both from Cheltenham College Prep school and from our partner school, Saint John’s Church of England primary school. Together with the older choir members of the College, the choristers sing at regular services of Choral Evensong in the College Chapel. In addition, pupils from Bishops Cleeve and Saint James primary schools have become choristers.
Aims
To offer children at local schools the opportunity to sing and develop their musical skills, through being involved with an established choir.
The Choristers benefit from exceptional musical training under the tutelage of our Director of Music and experience being part of Chapel life generally.
College choristers learn that there are others in their community who may not otherwise experience such musical opportunities. They also establish firm friendships through the shared activity.
