Monkton SENCO support for local school

An opportunity to help to train new staff members and set up processes in the SEN department of Oldfield School in order to free up the SENCO to dedicate to pupils.

Aims

To allow the SENCO of Oldfield School to continue with her role and take the pressure off training new staff members and setting up processes for assessment and examinations in order to meet the JCQ's criteria for access.

Background

Long term professional relationships between SENCOs in the local area meant that Monkton staff were able to offer help at a critical time.

Resources

Monkton staff time only over 4 afternoons.

Impact

New staff are trained and processes are now in place and Oldfield have been audited by JCQ.  It also freed up the SENCO to dedicate her time to pupils rather than to administration.
