Monkton/ AIM Netball Academy
This initiative is about encouraging as many young people as possible to get back to playing sport after the pandemic
Aims
This initiative was developed by Mia Ritchie, staff member at Monkton Combe and also England netball player as a way of enabling children and young people to get outside and enjoy netball again after the pandemic. 30 children from across local schools, as well as 40 pupils who volunteered from Monkton to help lead sessions and take part, benefited from this project over the Easter holidays 2021.
Background
The opportunity was identified by Mia Ritchie and Monkton supported her with use of the facilities and involvement of pupil volunteers. She has been running these opportunities for the past few years but it has become all the more important this year as extra-curricular options for many pupils have been reduced due to the pandemic.
Resources
The events were held at Monkton Senior School.

70 pupils engaged over 2 full days Easter 2021
Pupil Involvement
