Model United Nations Society
A joint extracurricular society in which students from St Helen's and Larkmead School take part in MUN conferences, both live and virtual.
Aims
The aim of this activity is to partner with students from another school in this politics and diplomacy-related project, enabling them to expand their knowledge and skills in an activity not provided at their own school.
Background
The partnership is one of St Helen's most long-established, having been active for at least three years.
Impact
The most engaged participants from Larkmead excel at this activity and regularly win prizes at the conferences. They get the opportunity to chair MUN Society meetings, teach others what they learned and chair committees at conferences. These are experiences which are highly valued on UCAS statements.
Pupil Involvement
Generally 8 Year 10 students from Larkmead School participate, along with up to 20 students from St Helen's.
