MMI Mock interviews for Medicine and Veterinary care.

St Gabriel's Science department hosted a range of mock interviews designed to prepare students for medical and veterinary school applications. The students worked through a range of interview questions hosted by staff to consider possible scenarios they may face in an interview.  

Aims

The event was designed to give students interested in Medical or Veterinary care the opportunity to experience the demands of an interview specifically linked to the two fields of employment.

When hosting these events the interviews involve practical role play to ensure the students understand the demands of the recruitment process and have as much experience in responding to possible scenarios in the field of choice. 

Background

St Gabriel's started the Medical mock interviews to help raise attainment in achieving places in further education. These interviews are designed to give the stimulation of the rigorous process applicant will be expected to adhere to in order to be successful. The interviews have been running over the past few years including live in person and team calls. 

Resources

St Gabriel's host the event within the school. The interviews are held between 4pm - 7pm in order to give external students the opportunity to attend. Teaching staff from the school assist in the event which is ran by the Head of Science. The cost of the event for students is free. 

Impact

The Mock Interviews have given applicants the confidence to enter the interview process with confidence.   

Pupil Involvement

The pupils invited to attend are sixth form students entering the UCAS application process.  

Frequency

The event is an annual event led by the Science department once a year.
