Mentoring for CyberFirst Girls Competition
Parallel to entering a team into the annual CyberFirst Girls Competition, The Perse Upper Computer Science Department mentor teams from local state secondary schools for this same competition.
The competition is a team event, made up of 4 students that identify as female from Year 8. Whatever their ability, from beginner to expert, the CyberFirst Girls Competition is an opportunity to learn something new about cyber security.
Aims
Part of the remit of the competition is to widen participation in this field, especially encouraging girls to take an interest in computing.
Background
The Head of Computer Science identified this opportunity and offered support to some local secondary schools
