Med/Vet/Dent Day

A Med Vet Dent industry day was held to give students an insight into these industries and the specialised application process required to study these disciplines at university. 20 local schools was also invited.

Aims

Following on from last year's Law Insight Day partnership event, and Med Vet Dent being of interest to a wide number of students - it was felt useful to have a day focusing on these industries and in particular the unique and specialised application process in terms of additional exams and work experience needed.

Resources

The event was held at STAHS and facilities were used such as theatre style IT projection, catering and venues.  

Impact

Great engagement from professionals made up of parents, alumni and other local professionals connected to the School. Around 21 professionals spoke to students at the event.

 

Pupil Involvement

The event was attended by about 150 students from Years 9 to 12 and hosted by eight teaching and non teaching staff. The event was run as a free event for participants.

Frequency

In 2025 a similar event will be held for a different group of industries.  The same group of partnership and local schools will be invited.
