Maths Help - Shrewsbury Academy

We invite Shrewsbury Academy Maths sets into school for extra tuition and tea twice per week throughout term time, right up to exam time.

Aims

We aim to provide extra Maths tuition to help Shrewsbury Academy pupils with this subject. We invite them in twice per week. We also give them a hot meal afterwards.

Background

Our Head of Maths wanted to help students in both the bottom and top Maths sets at Shrewsbury Academy with their learning.

Resources

We provide two minibuses to pick up and return the students. We also provide them with a hot meal for our canteen after their one hour lesson.

Impact

Students have increased contact hours in the subject, helping them to learn and understand better.

Pupil Involvement

We have two sets of 12 in year 11.

Frequency

Pupils come Monday and Thursday afternoons  throughout the year until the exam season.

We will continue this initiative as long as Shrewsbury Academy welcome it.
