Maths extension at New Scotland Hill School
Ongoing work with New Soctland Hill Year 6 class on Maths.
Aims
To support the school with maths extension with a focus on discussing maths. This was a point for improvement in their Ofsted report.
Background
The school identifed the need via Ofsted report. A Wellington teacher originally set this up by collaborating with New Scotland Hill. In 2018-19, he took them in groups to focus on skills. This year, he has worked on maths extension to help with responding to Ofsted feedback.
Resources
Teacher time.
Impact
Very positive feedback so far but no empirical data or repeat Ofsted visit. The goal is to do this in a wider variety of primary schools locally - the teacher has met with the Head who has delivered the information to the local cluster.
Pupil Involvement
Year 6 class.
Frequency
1 hour per week, weekly and ongoing.
