Mathmagics!

Prep schools joined us for our first Mathmagics! Live show. A 50 minute interactive show hosted and performed by actor David Hall.

Aims

To invite Prep and primary schools to a live Mathmagics! 50 minute interactive show performed by actor David Hall. 

Children were taken on a journey to discover the wonderful world of maths in an easy to understand and great fun format.

Background

A new show for King Edward's which was received exceptionally well.  

Resources

This event was held in two venues over a two day period. The first day was in our Lecture Theatre and the second day in Charter Hall.

Members of the Senior Leadership Team were invited to introduce David at the beginning of each show.

Impact

Mathmagics! Live was thoroughly enjoyed by all the guests. Over a two day period we entertained over 450 children from nine schools. Greenfield came on both days so they could bring the whole of their Year 5 and Year 6 classes and Dane's Hill brought a total of 100 on day two!

It was loud, exciting and exhilarating.  Feedback included -

Pupil Involvement

The attending children were from Years 5 and 6 plus our own Lower School Year 7 pupils.  They were all between the ages of 9 to 11.

Frequency

We are anticipating running this Mathmagics Live! event on an annual basis at the same time of the year.
