Making Musicians
Making Musicians is a developmental arts enrichment programme for exceptional musical talent, which is based at Norwich School and delivered by the Norwich School Music Department. Singers, instrumentalists and composers both from within the school and the wider community participate in an annual series of workshops, lectures, visits, masterclasses and recitals designed specifically to nurture young musicians.
The programme gives talented young musicians from across the county the opportunity to preform in public settings, including a monthly recital in Norwich Cathedral. Other highlights include an acoustic concert at the Norwich Playhouse.
Aims
The project aims to give talented young musicians from across the county access to expert guidance and tuition. Its busy performance schedule allows pupils to develop their performing skills by playing to audiences drawn from many different walks of life.
The monthly Making Musicians concerts in Norwich Cathedral are free to attend for the public.
Frequency
The Making Musicians programme is an ongoing project and accepts new musicians on a yearly basis.
