Madani School Taster Day

We invited girls from a local all-girls state school to a specific Taster Day, designed to introduce them to Sixth Form Life. 

Background

Madani Girls School is a local, maintained all-girls school based around 2 miles away from Leicester High in the Evington area of the city. 

Madani School educates girls between Years 7 and Year 11. It does not have a Sixth Form. Following a visit by the Leicester High School Headmaster to the School, discussions took place about how we could support the Madani girls in their Sixth Form choices by allowing them to experience a 'day in the life' of a Sixth Form student at LHS. 

A specific Taster Day was designed for a group of Year 10 girls from Madani. 

Resources

Our Head of Sixth Form designed the day. Teaching staff created lessons which would allow the girls to be introduced to the Sixth Form curriculum in an accessible way.

Pupil Involvement

30 girls attended, all from Year 10. 

Frequency

This event will be repeated for the new Year 10 Madani students in June.
