Lock Rock Band Event

 In our first joint venture with the London College of Creative Media, Monkton is hosting a competition for all of those student bands in schools in the Bath area who have been unable to play together of late.

Aims

Helping to try and keep musicians focused on making music and facing creative challenges;

widening pupils' outlooks beyond their own school, fostering a wider sense of a musical community;

giving students the opportunity to discover possible pathways through higher ed institutions such as the London college of Creative Media. 

It's also useful to us as a school to be linking with such an institution, who can inform and help us to innovate in the way we teach Music and Music Technology.

Pupil Involvement

Senior school pupils from over 6 schools across Bath have been invited to take part in this initiative, forming bands and collaborating online.

Frequency

The competition deadline is 7th March 2021 so the competition runs during the month before that.
