Links with Midhurst Rother College

Students from the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) group at Midhurst Rother College have attended Winchester College on several occasions since 2021.  The aim of these sessions was to teach French through non-language subjects.  The group have been given a tour of the College in French, learning about the historic buildings and how the college has changed over time.  They had a hands-on session in the College Treasury where they puzzled out what some historical artefacts were.  They have also undertaken forest school activities and croquet, all in French.

A-level Biology students from Midhurst Rother join us each year to conduct their ecology fieldwork getting the chance to sample in the College's nature reserve.

Students have joined us for History workshops on subjects including Elizabethan History and the War of the Roses.

Year 13 students from Midhurst Rother College joined us for a day of Science, Engineering and Maths.  The day began with team-building engineering challenges to build stable pylon and bridge structures followed by some experimental data gathering.  The students then split into subject specialisms with the biologists performing a rat dissection and looking at their specimens under the microscope; the computer scientists looking at maths and logic problems; and the physicists conducting experiments on drag using the wind tunnel.  Students applying to Oxford and Cambridge were also given mock interview practice and feedback from our Dons.
