Aims
To foster good relations between local schools and Lingfield college, to share best practice, resources and facilities and to have a genuine two way partnership for mutual benefit.
The benefits are huge, for the leadership teams, for the staff and above all else, and most importantly, for the students.
Background
Lingfield College approached the Head of Lingfield primary, there had been a relationship prior to Covid but it had dwindled.
Resources
The resources are widespread from teacher and support staff time, to sharing facilities, and creating opportunities to meet and share best practice.
Impact
Subject specific workshops:
- Ask children to rate whether the workshop was a positive or negative experience for them
- Have students write down something they enjoyed and something they learned from each workshop
Head and Deputy of LP met with LC Digital learning lead to discuss digital learning:
- Follow up visit planned for LC Digital Learning Lead at LP to discuss with leadership there as well as observing their methods.
- Discussions will then take place as to the possibility of implementing any methods/equipment which can then be measured on a qualitive basis.
Have staff, students and parents of LP attend any talks we have at LC with guest speakers:
- LC will request feedback from visiting members of other school communities on whether they found talks useful/informative. As well as suggestions on improvement and subject matter.
- Depending on the subject matter of the talk. Take 'anti bullying' as an example. We can survey those attending the talk as to whether they believe they are better equipped to deal with bullying as a result of the talk.
. Head and deputy of LP met with Director of Sport at LC to discuss the possibility of PE staff teaching sport at LP on set afternoons
- Once implemented we can measure students ability level in chosen sports and then retest at predetermined intervals to see if there are improvements
. Student volunteers looking to go to LP and assist with guided reading
- Can compare the growth in students reading ability to other academic years to see if there's an improvement
- Ask volunteers how they found the experience and whether they believe it improved their interpersonal skills / soft skills
. Leadership style
- Once new methods have been decided on we can measure staff morale at predetermined intervals to see if there's been an improvement
- Can also ask staff to submit their opinions on anything implemented. Likes, dislikes and suggestions
Frequency
This is an ongoing partnership with another school. Both parties are expecting this to grow, adapt and flourish over time.
